Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of IR experience and current ACLS, BCLS, and ARRT or RCIS certification.
Responsibilities
Position is in a combination lab covering interventional radiology, cardiology, vascular, and electrophysiology proceduresApproximately 80% of procedures are interventional radiology and 10% are other procedure typesWork with adult and geriatric patients, including device implants such as PPM and ICDDay shifts, 8 hours each, from 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 00 PM, scheduled per unit needsCall required twice a week for 2 weeks per month and one weekend per month; no call the week after weekend callUrgent and emergent cardiology and IR procedures are commonNo floating required for this unitNo holiday RTO permitted for this roleEPIC is the primary charting systemScrubs are provided by the facilityAssist providers with diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology proceduresScrub and circulate IR, cath lab, and cardiology procedures as part of the care teamMedication administration is performed by the RN onlyTeam includes three call staff, one being an RNOrientation lasts 40-80 hours, starting directly on the unitNo RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment due to orientationCandidates must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignmentFormer staff must wait 12 months before returning as a travelerLocal candidates within 50 miles may be offered a lower rateTravel pairs are permitted if working on different unitsRequirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in interventional radiologyCurrent ACLS, BCLS, and ARRT or RCIS certification requiredIR experience mandatory; ability to scrub and circulate IR and cath lab procedures requiredExperience in telemetry monitoring requiredAbility to work call shifts with 30-minute STEMI callback responsePreferred skills include EKG lead placement and advanced ARRT, RCES, or RCIS with medical experienceMust have NC or compact license in hand at time of start (license required if applicable)Experience using GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR / IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Impella, IABP, and other specialized equipment preferredEpic charting system experience requiredBenefits
