Job Description :

The Senior Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Consultant invests in our Purpose by collaborating with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), FAA designees, and Southwest Airlines Production Leadership to schedule and coordinate ODA activities such as design reviews, inspections, and tests. This role will author and manage FAA correspondence, identify and interpret FAA rules and guidance material, and perform ODA project planning and management functions to ensure compliance with all FAA regulati ons and Southwest policies . The Senior ODA Consultant is a skilled communicator and strategic thinker who is excited about the opportunity to bring their kno wledge of aircraft maintenance and regulatory compliance to Technical Operations at Southwest Airlines.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with FAA, FAA designees (DARs, DERs & ODAs), and Southwest Airlines Production Leadership to schedule and coordinate ODA activities, such as design reviews, inspections, and testsBuild and maintain trusted relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Southwest Production, QA, QC, Vendor Management, the FAA OMT, CMO, and Flight Standards policy branchesAuthor and manage FAA correspondence on behalf of Southwest Airlines ODA Leadership regarding ODA activities, such as design reviews, inspections, tests, and approvalsIdentify and interpret FAA rules (14 CFR) and guidance material (FAA Orders, Advisory Circulars, legal interpretations, etc.) relevant to Southwest ODA programs to ensure ODA policies and procedures comply with regulatory requirementsPerform ODA project planning and management functions, including defining project scope, establishing goals and deliverables, formulating agendas, monitoring action items, and reporting project milestones to Leadership. Ensure all outstanding commitments and initiatives meet their deadlines, or seek extensions before surpassing predetermined deadlines, as neededLead and participate in initiatives to improve compliance and safety in ODA and Engineering, including reviewing policies, developing procedures, conducting audits, and analyzing dataPrepare summary presentations for Tech Ops Leadership and the FAAEnsures ODA records are retained in Southwest's electronic records keeping repositoryConduct in-depth records research and ad hoc data pulls to support ODA activitiesServe as the database administrator for all ODA apps, including granting access, reviewing and approving changes to existing functionality, and coordinating enhancements to the databases and workflow management toolsProvide training and mentorship to coworkers to promote knowledge sharing and best practicesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to motivate and mentor others to achieve their goals and develop their skillsStrong written and verbal communication that can be adapted to meet the needs of technical and non-technical audiencesProven experience working directly with the FAA on aircraft maintenance and / or certification mattersExpert ability to collaborate effectively with internal Teams and external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with FAA requirements and achieve project goalsAbility to build strong working relationships with members of cross-functional teams in other departments and influence and guide them to achieve common goalsExpert ability to critically evaluate issues and concerns to develop and implement effective solutionsUnderstanding of aircraft maintenance record keeping policies and proceduresExpert ability to interpret, comprehend, and effectively communicate the intent of FAA rules (14 CFR) and guidance material (FAA Orders, Advisory Circulars, legal interpretations, etc.) to both technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand mannerStrong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlinesEducation
Required - High School Diploma or GEDExperience
Expert level experience, developing skills and knowledge in :Aircraft maintenance, regulatory compliance, FAA rules and guidance, auditing, engineering, aircraft records, and / or aircraft certification
Licensing / Certification
Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirementsPhysical Abilities

Competitive market salary from $134,750 per year to $149,700 per year
