About The Role
The EH&S Manager is responsible for serving as a staff specialist environmental, health, safety, and worker's compensation. The EH&S Manager leads the safety initiative by increasing safety awareness and reducing work-related accidents and injuries. The EH&S Manager creates and implements programs, policies, and procedures in the organization to effectively control accident and health exposures in the company that meet or exceed compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field preferred or the equivalent experience in safety in a manufacturing environment; high school diploma or GED required. Professional certification in Environmental, Health, and Safety preferred. Three to five years of experience as a safety leader, preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience in a Human Resource environment is desirable. Basic computer skills plus a working knowledge of computer software applications for word processing and spreadsheet applications. Well-versed in state and federal laws, policies and regulations pertaining to Occupational Safety and Health, Worker's compensation, and employment practices. Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills including the ability to prepare the presentation. Must be able to work independently on multiple tasks while dealing with frequent interruptions. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. Experience in a manufacturing environment required. Develop workable implementation plans; communicate changes effectively; build commitment and overcomes resistance; prepare and support those affected by change. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to adhere to Berry's Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards. Primarily a day shift office position with a flexible work schedule. Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for extended periods multiple times per day. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted. Ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes / boots, face shield, gloves, and face mask.
What We Want From You
A Bachelors degree in EHS, engineering, or related field highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years relevant manufacturing experience. 5+ years experience or involvement in EHS. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) is a plus.
