The Medical Assistant will perform clinical duties which includes intakes / medical and sexual histories with patients, blood draws and various swabs for STI testing, processing specimens and preparing them for shipment, documenting all activity and giving medications as directed by a licensed provider.

Room patient, obtain vital signs, record the subjective and perform medication reconciliation.Collect blood or fluid samples, using appropriate collection proceduresDispose of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policiesDispose of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policiesDraw blood and process specimensPerform rapid testing for HIV and Hepatitis CCollect and result rapid urine analysis, rapid hCG, rapid UDS, blood glucose testExplain fluid or tissue collection procedures to patientsProcess specimens according to Quest / LabCorp standardsMaintain laboratory supplies inventory; monitor expiration dates on medical and laboratory supplies and assist in placing orders as necessaryMaintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsAdminister vaccines and injections as directedMaintain PPA-funded medication inventoryGather and submit information needed to obtain Prior Authorization for medications as directedComplete applications, collect and submit documentation as needed for Insurance and Patient Assistance ProgramsHelp coordinate referrals and conduct needs assessmentsComplete new patient intakesProvide clerical assistance to medical staff as neededProtect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and protocols; follow identification proceduresUse PPE following all OSHA guidelinesComply with the ACG Confidentiality Agreement, HIPAA and other applicable laws and agency policies to ensure patient confidentialityMonitor and record Refrigerator / Freezer temperature in the morning and eveningMaintain professional certification and technical knowledge by attending educational workshopsGreet and acknowledge all patients according to agency standardsReceive, record and relay messages accurately, completely and legiblySpeak with others using clear, professional and polite languageDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the ACG team to reach common goalOther duties as assignedRequirements :
