Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Peoria, IL 61637 (Illinois healthcare jobs) Unit : Surgical Acute, Medical / Surgical Unit Start Date : December 8, 2025 End Date : March 9, 2026 Contract Length : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 30pm – 7 : 30am) Hours : 36 hours per week, guaranteed Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend & rotating holidays Charting System : EPIC (preferred for healthcare professionals) Dress Code : Any color scrubs Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990 - $2130 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois RN license or proof of application (Illinois nursing jobs) BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience Strong post-operative patient care and clinical support skills Excellent bedside manner and teamwork abilities Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care to post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, and manage drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and respiratory therapists Float to similar medical / surgical units as needed Document patient care using EPIC charting system Participate in comprehensive orientation, including preceptor shifts and professional training Discover the charm of Peoria, IL—a top destination for travel nurses seeking Illinois healthcare jobs.
