Role Description
The National Croquet Center is seeking a dynamic and organized Pro Shop & Membership Manager. This unique, dual-role position is ideal for a customer-focused professional with experience in retail operations and membership engagement. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of the Pro Shop, including merchandising, inventory, and sales while also serving as the primary point of contact for prospective and current members, overseeing onboarding, communication, and retention initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Pro Shop to ensure an exceptional retail experience
- Manage merchandise selection, vendor relationships, and product ordering
- Develop seasonal buying plans based on trends and member preferences
- Maintain accurate inventory levels; conduct regular stock checks and reorders
- Merchandise displays to reflect brand standards and drive sales
- Manage Point-of-Sale (POS) system and ensure accurate reporting of sales and inventory
- Train and supervise Pro Shop staff in customer service, product knowledge, and sales techniques
- Collaborate with golf / tennis staff on event merchandise, uniforms, and promotions
Membership Management
Serve as the first point of contact for prospective members; provide tours and detailed club informationGuide new members through the onboarding process, including orientation and welcome materialsMaintain accurate membership records and databasesAssist with member billing questions and membership status updatesCoordinate with the club's accounting and administrative team on renewals and resignationsDevelop and implement strategies to improve member engagement, satisfaction, and retentionPlan or assist in member welcome events, mixers, or new member programmingGenerate regular reports on membership trends, feedback, and suggestionsQualifications
3+ years of experience in retail management, preferably in a golf, tennis, or hospitality settingExperience in customer / member service or membership management strongly preferredStrong understanding of merchandising, sales analytics, and inventory controlExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; a natural relationship-builderProfessional appearance and demeanor, with a commitment to delivering high-end serviceStrong organizational and multitasking skills; self-motivated with attention to detailSeniority level
