Job / Department Summary :

Under the general direction of the Production Manager, the Costume / Makeup Studio Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of costume / makeup production by collaborating with the entire production team, selecting and acquiring materials to complete designs, fittings and alterations, training and working with paid and unpaid student assistant designers and class crews, and maintaining related materials, equipment and shop areas in safe working order. The Costume / Makeup Studio Coordinator is a member of The College of Humanities and Fine Arts production team, serving the programmatic needs of the department and The School of the Arts. Our team is committed to the primary goal of all programs and the training / education of students. Production values follow from this goal. The operation of the Costume / Makeup Studio are student centered training programs that provide opportunities for students in all phases of Theatrical costume and makeup production. The goals include the effective integration of production and curriculum as well as effective collaboration between faculty and production staff to enhance the connection between the student experience and academic coursework.

Required Education and Experience :

The background and experience needed would normally be achieved through professional training or applicable college coursework and no less than four years of practical experience.

ABachelor of Arts (BA),Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA),Master of Arts (MA), orMaster of Fine Arts (MFA) degree.

Demonstrated experiencesupervising all costume shop functions and responsibilities through a full production season.

Experience includingglobal scheduling, responsibility for multiple simultaneous productions, creative and technical oversight, assigning fabrication elementsandmanaging multiple employees simultaneously.

Experience interacting and communicating with directors.

Proven experience inbudgeting, sourcing, and purchasingall textiles and notions required for theatrical productions.

Time Base : Full-time

Pay Plan : 12 / 12

Work Schedule : Mon-Fri 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm

CSU Classification Salary Range : $52,620 - $95,220 per year.

Benefits : This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).
