Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Arcadia University seeks an innovative, values-driven Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic leadership and oversight of its financial operations with integrity, creativity, and vision. Reporting directly to the President, the CFO will serve as a vital member of the executive leadership team, guiding the institution’s financial strategy, systems, and stewardship. The new CFO will have a unique opportunity to shape the University's next chapter by joining a talented senior leadership team and engaging with a supportive Board at a time of continued growth in enrollment and programs. This leader will play a pivotal role in advancing the University’s strategic goals while developing and implementing financial strategies that position the institution to thrive amid the rapidly changing higher education landscape.

Key opportunities include :

  • Provide strategic and transparent financial leadership and oversight . The CFO will serve as a trusted and influential member of the University’s leadership team and will bring significant knowledge of budget development, resource allocation, financial modeling and cost containment strategies to guide financial strategy and long-range planning to ensure fiscal health and growth in alignment with the University’s mission and vision.
  • Identify new and assess ongoing revenue streams. Using a deep understanding of higher education realities with anticipation of impending developments, the CFO will be a strategic thought leader and will partner with the president, the Cabinet, and the Board to develop creative solutions for new sources of revenue that contribute to the University’s development while remaining committed to Arcadia's core mission.
  • Serve as an effective communicator of the University's financial position, outlook and strategy. The CFO will articulate complex financial information and decisions in ways that make them accessible for a wide range of audiences across campus. The CFO must sustain a high degree of trust, visibility, and transparency through listening and open dialogue with the Arcadia community.
  • Lead and support a high-performing and dedicated finance team. Success in this role will require not only financial expertise but also a leadership style that motivates, empowers, and fosters collaboration among staff.

Arcadia’s deeply held mission, vision, and lived values require a CFO who has a demonstrated commitment to excellence, integrity, innovation and creativity. The successful candidate will be an experienced financial and business operations leader with the ability to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by a rapidly changing higher education landscape. The successful candidate will be an effective, empathetic, empowering, and open-minded leader, with an ability to thrive in shared, collegial university governance. The CFO should bring an awareness of best practices and current regulations, and the ability to educate and engage with others in their implementation. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, with comprehensive budget and financial planning experience, including experience in analysis and reporting, asset management, audit compliance, and federal and state tax regulations and reporting procedures. Higher education experience is highly preferred, but not required. They will hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, with a strong preference for a CPA or an advanced degree such as an MBA and / or CPA equivalent.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $262,000 - 350,000 with a generous benefits package designed to support physical, mental, and financial wellness.
