Yard Driver (CDL)

Yard Driver

Yard Driver will be responsible for organizing all shipping containers in the yard.

Essential Functions

• Rack / Container movement in the yard
• Exterior plant organization
• Packaging transportation inside / outside of building
• Loading / unloading trucks as necessary
• Develop and maintain an organized and efficient loading and unloading process
• Setting up disposal of damaged containers
• Coordinating disposal of obsolete containers as well as new containers
• Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor
• Backup to shipping clerks or manufacturing material handlers as necessary
• Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience (Hi-lo driving) and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. Employee is required to operate a lift truck or other material handling equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. This position operates in a professional office environment with controlled temperatures. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Will have some exposure to loud noise, hot and cold temperatures in manufacturing plants.
