Incoming Materials Quality Technician (Day Shift)
Pay : $20-$25 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 30 PM
Night Vision Devices, Inc. is seeking an Incoming Materials Quality Technician
to perform incoming inspection and quality control on materials used in the production of high-performance night vision systems. This role is responsible for verifying the quality and accuracy of incoming materials and ensuring compliance with company standards and inventory control procedures.
Responsibilities :
- Perform incoming inspections on components, subassemblies, materials, including COTS items, raw materials, and special process verification.
- Verify dimensional accuracy using precision inspection tools such as micrometer, caliper, pin gauges, height gauge, multimeter.
- Interpret and understand drawings (blueprints), technical data, and specifications to verify compliance.
- Accurately document inspection results, record defects, and maintain traceability of materials through established QA logs and records.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Director to support root cause analysis and corrective actions when required.
- Receive, inspect, and verify the accuracy of incoming shipments and ensure all materials are properly identified and stored.
- Prepare, pack, and ship finished products, ensuring secure packaging and compliance with internal shipping procedures.
- Support inventory control, proper material handling, and storage organization within the inventory control area(s).
Qualifications :
1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, inspection, or quality assurance.Ability to read and interpret simple part drawings (blueprints) and understand technical documentation.Experience using mechanical measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, pin gauges, height gauge, multimeter).Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.Good math and measurement skills.Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.Enthusiasm to learn new skills.Effective communicator with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Comfortable working in a clean, environmentally controlled, manufacturing environment.Preferred Experience (a plus, not required) :
Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards or similar quality management systems.Forklift certification or experience.Experience in an electronics or mechanical assembly environment.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavier items (up to 600 lbs.) with proper handling equipment.Must be able to stand / sit for extended periods of time.Why Work With Us :
