Senior Financial Analyst

Boston University seeks a highly skilled and collaborative Senior Financial Analyst to support the University's central Office of Budget & Planning. Reporting directly to the Director, Budget and Academic Planning, this position is responsible for compiling university financial data relating to overall projections of enrollments, tuition, fees, & student financial assistance and all funds operating revenue and expenses. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience synthesizing complex data from a variety of sources across the University, providing actionable insights through clear, concise board-level presentations and reports. They will prepare, collect, and interpret financial data to develop financial analyses, projections, short and long-term financial plans, and other reports. This role requires excellent time management skills to thrive under tight deadlines and rapidly evolving priorities. Major duties of this position include : assisting in the coordination of reporting and analysis regarding budget and actual data, which includes reconciling information between SAP FM, IP, and other university data systems; developing and implementing models to forecast financial performance; assisting with the operation of the University's annual development and quarterly confirmation process for operating budgets and the distribution of approved budgets; preparing various analysis detailing trends, discrepancies, or amendments that occurred to both the recurring, non-recurring budgets; analyzing operating performance and recommending new ways to find efficiencies, margin improvement, and / or savings.
