The Treasury group within SMBC Capital Markets Inc is responsible for managing the firm's cash and ensuring the business has adequate funding to sustain operations. As the business of SMBC Capital Markets has grown significantly in the past few years, the scope and nature of the Treasury department's role has continued to evolve along with the business. As a result of this growth, we are looking to add an experienced Treasury professional to enhance our reporting and analytical capabilities around liquidity and funding management.
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $107,000 and $162,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the daily and projected cash flows while ensuring sufficient cash and liquidity to fund company operations.
- Manages Cash Projections and responsible for cash targets for USD and FX Exposure.
- Spearheads bank account opening and cash credit limits while acting as point of contact with banking relationship managers.
- Identify and drive enhancements related to the monitoring of firm funding and liquidity on an intraday basis. Extend these enhancements to monthly and quarterly reporting to track long-term trends in firm funding and liquidity positions.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the firm to understand the end-to-end process of transactions and identify opportunities for improvement within current treasury operational processes.
- Help incorporate and define new tasks to be performed by CM Treasury as the scope of the department continues to evolve, including but not limited to : ALM, Funding, Liquidity, and Investments.
- Act as a liaison between CM and CUSO Treasurer and coordinate internally to respond to standing and ad-hoc reporting requests related to firm funding and liquidity position.
- Compliance with the firm's code of conduct and adhere to proper controls policies and procedures which are applicable.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience working in the financial services industry, with 3+ years experience working specifically in a Treasury function with knowledge of liquidity and funding management.Strong quantitative and analytical skills, and attention to detail.Functional knowledge of financial markets. Strong product knowledge across interest rate and FX products is a plus.Familiarity with the collateral life cycle is a plus.About the company
