They will also manage the department and fulfill the Charge Nurse role. Responsibilities include triaging ambulance patients, starting IVs, and administering medications. The unit has 21 beds with fast track staffed by mid-levels and LVNs. Patient ratios are typically 1 to 4, but can vary based on acuity. The charting system used is Cerner. This position requires teamwork and collaboration with colleagues. There is a weekend requirement of 4 shifts within a 4-week schedule. Staff are expected to wear navy blue scrubs and adhere to the dress code. Night shifts will be self-scheduled, with a manager balancing final schedules. Floating between facilities may occur, with advance notice provided. Candidates should be prepared to manage fluctuating patient volumes, which can be significant. Holidays require working one major and one minor holiday as part of the schedule. The facility is a Primary Stroke Center and has resources such as RT and Pharmacy available 24 / 7. Teamwork and adaptability are essential in this fast-paced environment.
