We have established developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate and effective teaching approaches that enhance each child’s learning and development in the context of the curriculum goals. Our teachers recognize differences, such as learning styles, needs, capacities, interests and cultural backgrounds, and use instructional and nurturing approaches that are appropriate for each child, as well as collectively as a group. PACCC hires teachers with the educational qualifications, knowledge, and professional commitment necessary to promote children’s learning and development, and to support families’ diverse needs and interests. PACCC also provides ongoing professional development and trainings for staff to enhance their skill set, approaches and the curriculum within our programs.
About the Role :
We are seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our team at Palo Alto Community Child Care. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children while promoting their physical, emotional, and intellectual development. You will work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to ensure that the daily activities and routines are implemented effectively. Your role will be crucial in maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment for our students.

As a Substitute Teacher, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues. You will also need to have strong team-player attitude as you move from center to center to support each program when permanent staff are absent. Additionally, you will need to have a strong understanding of child development and be able to adapt plans to meet the needs of each child. Your ability to adapt to different teaching styles and work collaboratively with other teachers and staff will be essential in ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. Finally, you will need to have a passion for working with children and be committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn and grow.
