General Statement of Duties : Performs a variety of duties related to the coordination of the Victim Services Program for the Montrose County Sheriff's Office and provides services to the Montrose Police Department on an on-call basis. These duties include, but are not limited to contacting victims of crimes defines in Victim Rights Act (VRA) to officer immediate assistance, support, information, and resource information.
Supervision Received : The work is performed under the general direction and supervision of a Patrol Sergeant and / or Team Supervisor while some leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
Supervision Exercised : Has supervisory responsibility over Victim Services Program volunteers and Victim Services Program staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Education : High School graduate or equivalent. Associate's Degree in related field.
Experience : One (1) year of experience including work with the public on a regular basis.
Required Knowledge :
Language Skills : Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Interpersonal Skills : Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with victims, law enforcement agencies, representatives of the court, community agencies, and other county department staff.
Computer Skills : Modern office technology and equipment, including computers and related software applications. Working knowledge of database manipulation, spread sheets, and word-processing. Learn specific software associated with the position and / or organization.

Special Requirements : Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record. Must be able to work on-call on a 24-hour basis.
