Job description

As our Forecasting QA Analyst, you will make an immediate impact on our team, products, and engineering practices. STChealth creates industry-leading technology solutions designed to reduce the impact of preventable disease and empower people throughout the healthcare ecosystem.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact to not only STChealth and our clients, but also on the lives of people around the world.

This position supports the oversight and testing of all vaccine forecasting schedules for our forecasting product. Utilizing Bitbucket and building, deploying and testing the schedule changes to ensure data quality and accuracy. This position has a strong technical background and understanding of ACIP vaccine recommendations. While no actual engineering or development is required, responsibilities of this position take a similar workflow given the configurations, testing and deployment of custom schedules required.

Forecasting Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of ACIP vaccine recommendations

Use Bitbucket for source control of changes

Modify data in XML files to support custom schedule configurations

Deploy schedule changes in a local environment for testing

Create and execute test cases to confirm the modifications are correct

What You Will Do

White box, Black box (Functional, Gorilla), Gray box, web service testing, and manual testing of web software.

Actively pursue and develop automation-ready test cases where appropriate to provide periodic, repeatable coverage and reduce regression testing expense

Write and maintain test assets such as test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, test results, and test tools in a suitable state for quick reuse

Build and deploy software applications on multiple environments using tools such as ANT, Maven and Tomcat

Provide trainings and demonstrations of our products internally and to our clients

Analyze and gather business requirements

Perform peer documentation reviews and provide constructive feedback

Execute test plans

Inspect, decompose, and challenge user stories (business and functional requirements) by asking useful questions to drive toward clarity and testability, resulting in a sound and comprehensive test approach

Develop manual and automated test cases and configurations needed to meet testing for business requirements

Monitor and track resolution of defects coordinating with engineers in order to prevent, report, and resolve

Work collaboratively with technical and business team members to develop and maintain business solutions following Agile development principles and practices

Triage and prioritize bugs

Be a vocal and passionate advocate for the user

Participate in a cross-functional team as an agile tester, including active involvement in ceremonies such as demos / reviews, grooming, planning, and retrospectives

Ensure a constant and accurate flow of information to the project team on the progress of testing, issues, risks, and the state of the product

Continually develop understanding of the system, its architecture, and operation and share this with fellow team members

Continually develop understanding of QA best practices, tools, and methods and share this with fellow team members

Continually develop understanding and knowledge of the user base, their needs and practices, and how our applications are utilized and share this with fellow team members

About You

Technical Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge of issue tracking systems (e.g. JIRA, Bugzilla) is required

Experience with one or more databases (e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) required

Experience with Test Case Management tools (e.g. Zephyr) Is a plus

Must be proficient in writing end-to-end user acceptance test cases and scenarios

Experience working in a SCRUM / Agile environment is a plus

Experience with software testing frameworks such as Selenium, Robot Framework, or QTP is a plus

Experience with automation frameworks is a plus

Experience in testing web services within a SOA is a plus

Experience using SQL with regard to writing and understanding queries and procedures is a plus

Experience with some or all of the following : JSP with one or more Java Application Servers (e.g. Tomcat, Oracle), version control (e.g. SVN), Maven, or Ant is a plus

Experience with data analysis, ETL (Extract Transform Load) technology, and / or Business Intelligence is a plus

Skills and Abilities

Motivated individual with analytical skills who can quickly learn new applications, share knowledge, and thrive in an environment where solutions often need to be independently researched

Expected to complete tasks with a certain degree of creativity and latitude

Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to speak in public and under pressure

Strong attention to detail with overriding desire to validate software adherence to business requirements; troubleshooting software and system defects, and willingness to offer productive ideas on improving software quality and usability

Proven ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business focused environment

Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges

Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous / under-defined problems

Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies

Previous leadership experience preferred

Experience in the public health sector desirable

Background in nursing or healthcare with familiarity of vaccines and test cases highly preferred
