Registered Nurse (RN) - Gastro

Job Description

A healthcare organization on Long Island is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Gastro team in Nassau County and provide nursing care to patients.

Responsibilities :

• Assist with applicant screening, selection, training, providing feedback for performance evaluations, and providing information related to employee discipline and termination of staff
• Review patient charts for missing labs, reports, and / or open orders and reviews as part of care team huddles
• Prepare equipment and aid the Physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients
• Review the Electronic Health Record (EHR) active medication list with patients
• Contact patients with test results and provides recommendations on cases per Physician determination and / or standards of care
• Triage urgent same day or double booked appointment requests
• Document progress notes in electronic health record within 24 hours
• Manage in-basket requests and responds to all requests in a timely manner
• Perform other duties, as needed
