Overview

Vayan Group is seeking a Quality Technician – Manufacturing Project Coordinator to support quality inspection, project coordination, and customer relations across multiple U.S. manufacturing sites. This role combines technical expertise in dimensional inspection and AS9102 documentation with hands-on coordination of plant activities, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy both precision work and dynamic, on-the-move environments.

This position requires frequent travel to customer sites throughout the United States to oversee project launches, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with Vayan and customer quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coordinator and quality lead for inspection projects across multiple customer sites.
  • Perform detailed dimensional inspections using precision tools such as calipers, pin gauges, micrometers, and height gages .
  • Review and approve AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for machined parts and assemblies.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to verify product conformity.
  • Train and guide inspection teams in Standardized Work Instructions and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure proper material flow, handling of nonconforming product , and adherence to scrap / rework protocols.
  • Conduct and document Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and process validations at customer sites.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and customer quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Serve as a customer-facing representative for Vayan Group, maintaining professionalism and accountability while on-site.
  • Support compliance to ISO 9001 , IATF 16949 , and customer-specific quality systems across all projects.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required (for clearance eligibility).
  • Frequent travel required to customer manufacturing facilities across the U.S. (up to 60–75%).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant lab environment .
  • Proven ability to review and approve AS9102 reports for machined components .
  • Strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and dimensional tolerances .
  • Hands-on experience with precision inspection tools (Calipers, Pin Gauges, Micrometers, Height Gages).
  • Solid grasp of quality inspection principles , calibration, and measurement techniques.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and mathematical abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality data reporting.
  • Comfortable working in a factory, warehouse, or lab setting with adherence to safety and quality standards.

    • Education

  • Some college or Industrial Engineering coursework preferred .
  • QMS, ISO, or AS9102 certification a plus.
