Job Description: Auto Body Mechanic

The Auto Body Mechanic is a highly skilled professional who excels in inspecting vehicle mechanical components and engines, diagnosing problems, and performing necessary maintenance and repairs.

Job Responsibilities:

Diagnose mechanical faults using computerized diagnostic equipment or manually identify issues that the diagnostic tools cannot detect.
Replace or repair any engine components.
Service and repair vehicle transmission systems.
Maintain and repair brake systems, including disc and drum brakes.
Diagnose and repair electrical system issues, such as problems with the battery, starter, and alternator.
Perform wheel alignments and tire services.
Replace or repair suspension and steering components.
Conduct emissions tests and ensure emissions meet regulatory standards.
Replace exhaust systems.
Change oil and perform necessary fluid services.
Replace or repair fuel system components.
Service or repair hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
Maintain and repair hydraulic systems in applicable vehicles.
Document all repairs and maintenance in the appropriate systems.
Provide repair estimates, timelines, and seek center leader approval for work to be performed.

Cycle Time Efficiency

Skills/Qualifications:

Previous experience as an Auto Body Mechanic and proper training/certification
Mechanical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems
Familiarity with complex electronic control systems
Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment well.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair guides.
Knowledge of vehicle safety standards and regulations
Basic understanding of automotive repair techniques
Valid driver's license

Behavioral Excellence Required:

Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Perform all assigned responsibilities according to the Company Standard Operating Procedures.
Participate in training programs as required to maintain the technical and professional skills and techniques necessary for this position.
Extend normal working hours as necessary to accommodate the workload and meet customer requirements.
