Airport Security Supervisor
Under general direction of the Assistant Vice President, Airport Security, this position exercises direct supervision over Access DFW and Security Compliance sections. Responsibilities include oversight of security audits and inspections, outreach program, background checks, security training, issuance of airport identification media & access devices, and Air Operations Area (AOA) vehicle permits. Compliance and enforcement of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1520, 1540, & 1542, including other applicable security directives, and maintain the Airport Security Program (ASP). Manages the budget, schedules, and supervises the performance of personnel.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prioritizes and supervises the overall activities of Access DFW and Security Compliance sections
- Direct, supervises, trains, schedules, and evaluates the performance of staff assigned to the Access DFW and Security Compliance
- Reviews employee schedules, hours of operation, payroll submission and maintains complete control over employees and their compliance with Airport Board Rules and Regulations and federal regulations.
- Ensures Access DFW media are issued in compliance with federal regulations, Airport Board policy, Code of Rules and Regulations and Schedule of Charges.
- Reviews, recommends, and implements policies, procedures, practices, control techniques and forms for access media issuance and maintenance of audit trails and revenue collection.
- Prepares and maintains reports and records; provides for computer systems data backup and security.
- Directs personnel in the security of information, processes requests for information and protects against the dissemination of secure information.
- Evaluates requests for use of the AACS and makes recommendations as to its use.
- Works collaboratively with TSA, other federal and local law enforcement agencies, airport tenants and stakeholders to ensure a secure environment.
- Directly supports, maintains, and update the Airport Security Program (ASP), policies, or other security related documents to ensure compliance with CFR Parts 1520, 1540, and 1542, Security Directives, National Amendments, and other federal aviation regulations.
- Oversees the compliance program to ensure daily assessments, regulatory audits, corrective actions are initiated for any instance of non-compliance.
- Provides oversight of the annual Aviation Security (AVSEC) Contingency Plan Exercise.
- Responds to TSA findings, develop and initiate a corrective action to resolve non-compliance.

Investigates problems, coordinates activities with other departments and takes corrective action, including preparation of correspondence and reports, forwarded through the appropriate chain of command.Ensures adequate supplies are on hand for issuance of various permits, devices and badges, coordinates with Graphic Services the printing of required forms and documents.Oversees contract administration in areas pertaining to the AACS and other security Access DFW items.Drafts budget proposal; tracks budget and revenue activity; prepares financial data and projections.Manages Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Coordinates or directs programming of automated Access DFW systems as needed to maintain current information databases and other organized inventories of control media.Directs personnel in the adjudication of applicant Criminal History Records Checks.Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Homeland Security, Security Management, or related field.Five (5) years of supervisory experience in Aviation Security (AVSEC)Three (3) years of administrative or customer service experience.Any equivalent combination of education and / or experience may be substituted for the above.Experience in administering TSA Federal Security Programs at a Category X or I AirportHas not been convicted of a Felony, Class A and / or Class B Misdemeanor criminal offense.Has not been convicted of any family violence offense.Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification / Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et.al. and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from the date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.Knowledgeable with CFR 1520, 1540, 1542 Regulations, National Amendments, and Security DirectivesThis is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.Knowledge of procedures concerning the issuance and control of secure systems used to control access.Ability to meet and deal with the public, air carriers, airport tenants, Board personnel and others to exchange information and resolve problems.Ability to train, supervise and monitor the activities of employees.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to operate computer equipment and use spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software.Ability to prepare a variety of records, reports, statistics, and correspondence and maintain accurate documentation.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and promote good customer service.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.Desirable :
Must be able to obtain an Airport Security Coordinator's certificate within one (1) year of hire.Experience in the military, law enforcement and / or a security field in an aviation environment.Multilingual.Efforts :
