Overview Writing coach position at DCC in New Orleans, LA. Part‑time, staff appointment in Academic Affairs / Communications.
Responsibilities Coach students in all processes of effective writing, college-level reading, and presentation skills
Support students in developing revision plans for their assignments and sustainable learning habits
Provide encouraging, constructive feedback that empowers students to grow as learners
Meet with students both in-person and virtually
Be part of a team that maintains a friendly, inclusive space where all students feel supported and affirmed
Connect students with additional campus resources when helpful
Build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
Complete required trainings toward CRLA / ITTPC Level 1 & 2 Tutor Certification
Maintain session records using the Center’s student information system
Complete daily documentation to help improve our services
Qualifications Required Education : Bachelor’s Degree
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with a variety of student populations; proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite, and Zoom
Preferred Experience Previous experience in education, especially public post-secondary institutions
Proficiency with Canva, Google Slides, and / or Prezi
Experience with institutional student information systems
