Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Franklin, Indiana 46131

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Medical / Surgical Unit (34 beds)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nurse contract

Start Date : October 30, 2025

End Date : January 29, 2026

Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (6 : 00pm – 6 : 30am), 3 shifts / week

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,780 - $1,910

Self-Scheduling : Available as appropriate

Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Holiday Requirement : Rotating holidays

Charting System : Cerner Millennium

Dress Code : Navy Blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical / Surgical, PCU, Telemetry, or CCU nursing

BLS (AHA) certification required

NIHSS certification required

Ability to float within Med / Surg scope as needed

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with conditions such as pneumonia (PNA), COPD, CHF, orthopedic procedures, and post-surgical diagnoses

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including charge nurses, supervisors, and patient care technicians

Monitor and manage patients requiring chronic BiPAP and CPAP therapy

Administer medications and manage set-rate drips (e.g., Heparin) following hospital protocols

Accurately document patient care in Cerner Millennium EHR

Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled

Promote a safe, positive, and supportive environment for patients and staff

Engage in orientation and ongoing professional development for nursing excellence
