Medical Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery - Encinitas
This is a benefited, full time position generally working 8-hr day shifts Monday-Friday with varied start times. Hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic in Encinitas. Required to float to Scripps Jefferson (in Oceanside) based on department needs.

Scribing / Starting Notes for ProvidersOrder and referral EntryDocumentation of Patient EncountersKnowledge of Medical Terminology, Spine PreferredRooming patientsChecking vitalsClinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocolsMaintains a clean, organized, and safe environmentOrganizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practiceRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionBasic registration and updating of demographicsRequired Education / Experience / Specialized Skills :
Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanRequired Certification / Registration :
BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)Preferred Education / Experience / Specialized Skills / Certification :
One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient settingPrevious experience in Orthopedic SurgeryScribing experience
