Registered Nurse Supervisor

Above all, help rehabilitate our residents by aiding them along the path to their recovery according to established plan of care

Specific Requirements

Working knowledge of state and federal regulations.

Must be able to read, speak, write and understand the English Language.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents and family members.

Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.

Must possess patient, tact and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents, if necessary.

Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development.

Ability to recognize and later describe persons associated with nursing homes safety and security.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse. Currently licensed in the State of New York as an R.N. Knowledge of MDS, IV Certification and Supervisory skills preferred.

• Associates and / or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Five years supervisory experience in Long Term Care.
• Two years Hospital experience in a specialty unit preferred.
• Knowledge of EMR, computer skills required.

Working Conditions

Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours.

Is subject to frequent interruptions.

Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, under all conditions / circumstances.

Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel and visitors.

Communicates with medical staff, nursing personnel.

Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends, holidays when necessary.

Is subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc throughout the workday.

Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including AIDS and Hepatitus B Viruses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Represent the facility in dealing with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third-party payees, or provide an authorized representative when unable to attend such meetings.
