The Medical Assistant Team Leader plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of front and back-office staff, ensuring effective and efficient teamwork with a strong emphasis on customer service and high-quality healthcare delivery. This position involves leading, planning, and organizing daily to monthly functions, while ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities :
- Supervise and manage the workflow of front and back-office staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Monitor, coach, and mentor staff, providing ongoing performance evaluations and feedback on clinical skills and daily operations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance employee morale and motivation.
- Oversee the training of new and current employees, ensuring skill competencies are met.
- Deliver continuous training for process updates and assist staff in correcting any deficiencies.
- Assist in creating and managing weekly and daily staff schedules.
- Track absenteeism and manage time-off approvals.
- Prioritize workflow to maximize productivity, employee satisfaction, and patient care quality.
- Collaborate with management in preparation for and delivery of staff meetings and mandatory training sessions.
- Provide back-up support for the medical assistant team as needed.
- Act as the department’s computer Super User for troubleshooting minor computer issues.
- Work with management to achieve patient, employee, and physician satisfaction goals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records according to HIPAA protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance TrueCare’s success.
- Assist in audits as required.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting.At least two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience in a healthcare setting.Bilingual in English and Spanish.Knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory procedures, and healthcare operations.Valid Driver's License.Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related courses.Knowledge of ICD-10 coding.Experience with Electronic Health Records.Phlebotomy Certification.The hourly pay range for this role is $30.12 - $43.67.
