Multi-Family Superintendent – Job Summary
The Multi-Family Superintendent oversees all field operations for ground-up and renovation multi-family construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance. This role manages day-to-day jobsite activities, coordinates subcontractors and self-perform teams, and serves as the primary field contact for the project team and client.
The Superintendent is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized jobsite while driving progress through proactive planning, communication, and leadership. This position requires strong experience in multi-family construction, including wood framing, concrete podium structures, MEP coordination, and interior finishes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and supervise all field operations on multi-family projects from start to finish.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and inspections to maintain workflow.
- Conduct daily jobsite meetings and collaborate with project management to address design or field challenges.
- Monitor quality control and ensure work meets specifications and drawings.
- Manage punch lists, project closeout, and turnover to ownership.
- Foster a positive team environment focused on communication, accountability, and safety.
Qualifications :
5–10 years of experience as a Superintendent in multi-family or large residential construction.Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing.Proven experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and budgets.OSHA 30 certification preferred.Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam).Excellent leadership and communication skills.
