POSITION SUMMARY

As an Event Planning Intern at GY Properties, you will play a key role in curating engaging resident events, assisting with corporate gatherings, and supporting resident-led clubs. This position is ideal for someone passionate about event coordination, community engagement, and hospitality. You will gain hands-on experience in planning, organizing, and executing events that enhance resident experience and corporate culture.

This internship is unpaid and is for winter semester course credit, with a 20-hour / week requirement. The candidate will report to the Philadelphia office.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Resident Event Curation : Plan and execute engaging community events that foster connection among residents, such as themed socials, wellness activities, and networking gatherings.

Corporate Event Assistance : Support the planning and logistics of internal corporate events, including team-building activities, celebrations, and meetings.

Resident-Led Clubs : Assist in organizing and promoting resident-led clubs and activities, ensuring they align with community interests and company values.

Vendor Coordination : Research, communicate with, and coordinate vendors for event needs such as catering, entertainment, and decor.

Event Promotion : Work with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to maximize event attendance and engagement.

Budget Tracking : Assist in managing event budgets, ensuring cost-effective planning and execution.

Logistical Support : Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring a smooth experience for attendees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Current Enrollment : Must be a junior or senior student pursuing a degree in Event Planning, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Organizational Skills : Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Attention to Detail : Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure seamless event execution.

Interpersonal Skills : Strong communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with residents, vendors, and team members.

Creativity & Initiative : Ability to generate fresh ideas for engaging events and take initiative in executing them.

Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Canva or event management software is a plus.

Availability : Must be available to work 20 hours per week in-person in Philadelphia, PA.

HOURS : Part-time opportunity : 20h / week

WORK LOCATION : Philadelphia, PA 19123. Fully in-person role.
