About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Med / Surg TELE

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : 7 AM - 7 PM

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 1 year

License : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS, NIHSS (preferred), ACLS (preferred)

Must-Have :

• Previous charge experience highly preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting rhythm strips.
• Experience with cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), insulin drips, and heparin drips.
• Skills in trach care, chest tube management, wound care, IV administration, and central line management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Description :

Recruiting for a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical Unit.

The start date is needed soon.

Unit will monitor patients on telemetry.

Patient types may include various medical diagnoses, excluding primary cardiac cases.

Common diagnoses seen may include stroke, COPD, respiratory issues, gastrointestinal bleed, renal failure, and electrolyte imbalances.

This is a non-surgical unit that will manage both acute and less acute patients.

Patient ratios for RNs during days are typically 1 : 4-5 and nights are 1 : 5-6, based on patient acuity.

CNA support is available but the RN may occasionally provide total care for less acute patients.

CNA duties include obtaining vital signs, assisting with patient mobility, and providing personal care.

Support on the unit includes access to a house supervisor and respiratory therapy available around the clock.

The charting system uses Cerner, though familiarity is not required.

RNs may be required to float to areas with Med / Tele patients as needed.

Weekend rotation is required every other week with no holiday time off accepted at this time.
