Medical Assistant (Trinity, FL)

Overview

Were hiring a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient dermatology clinic (Academic Alliance in Dermatology) in our Trinity & Tarpon Springs office. The Medical Assistant will assist Physicians and other Providers by preparing procedure trays ensuring adequate supplies for the department and assisting with patient care.

This is a full-time MA position Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

• Escort p atient to exam room and confirm first & last name & DOB .
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Organize patient flow .
• Setup p rocedure tray instruments and equipment according to i nstructions .
• Prepare Path / lab specimens route to correct lab directed by patient insurance plan .
• Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed .
• Check to-dos / Nurse line .
• Calibrate clean sterilize and inventory all equipment & instruments according to schedule . Keep appropriate records of maintenance.
• Maintain medication supplies discard out-of-date supplies and keep appropriate records .
• Maintain infection control and make sure s upply rooms and cabinets are stocked.
• Ordering sorting restocking and inventory of all supplies.
• Document all medical instructions given to patients thoroughly review wound care with patients when applicable.
• Anesthesia / Inject for p rocedures.
• Ensure all phone messages faxes and interdepartmental mail are addressed in a timely manner .
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance
• Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management .
