About the Role
As a Senior Underwriter, you'll take on a dynamic mix of underwriting and marketing responsibilities, showcasing your expertise in both client relationship management and technical underwriting. Your role will require a strong blend of analytical thinking, industry knowledge, and interpersonal skills to consistently deliver exceptional service. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite, 2 remote in either Warren, NJ, New York City or Stamford, CT.

Qualifications, Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree, or above and insurance certifications, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of casualty underwriting with commercial lines insurance company or reinsurance company (facultative, program or treaty). Prior knowledge of reinsurance contracts is not necessary but a plus. Ability to stay organized within a fast paced, team-oriented, and dynamic work environment with the ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize tasks. Demonstrated knowledge of underwriting pricing for auto liability, general liability, workers compensation and excess / umbrella liability. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong relationship management and business development skills. Possess excellent analytical skills. Possess good computer skills, including working knowledge of various Microsoft and web-based programs.

Data Interpretation : Skill in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, recognizing trends, and drawing meaningful conclusions. Attention to Detail : Capability to notice subtle variations and errors in data, ensuring accurate analysis and reporting. Mathematical Proficiency : Strong understanding of statistical and mathematical principles to support data analysis. Curiosity : A strong desire to explore, question, and understand complex issues, driving deeper investigation and learning.
The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
