Duties

Help

• Performs all duties in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
• Develops program guides that address the audit objectives and provide a clear path for developing convincing findings and actionable recommendations.
• Develops and coordinates project plans, including assisting supervisor in developing budgets and timelines for upcoming projects.
• Communicates project status to supervisor and senior agency officials on a regular basis.
• Works with staff auditors to prepare clear, concise, and complete work papers. Plans, coordinates, conducts, and reports on audits.
• Exercises technical direction over the collection and analysis of all data; ensuring that evidence collected is sufficient and appropriate.
• Prepares and reviews staff audit reports, completes work papers, and provides written recommendations.

Qualifications

To qualify for an Auditor(Performance), your resume and supporting documentation must support :

A. Basic Requirement : A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and / or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and / or auditor.")

OR

Combination of education and experience : at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following :

B. Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off / closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes :

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ADVISORY : Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
