Job Description :
Join our team as a Level 4 Senior RF Electrical Engineer, where you will have the opportunity to lead the architecture, analysis, and optimization of cutting-edge RF systems for radar and communication applications. Your expertise will be key in deriving comprehensive RF system budgets, managing critical performance parameters such as phase noise and CPCR (Clutter Power to Carrier Ratio), and collaborating with a diverse group of engineering disciplines to ensure our systems exceed mission expectations.
Key Responsibilities :
Define and develop innovative RF system architectures for radar and advanced sensing applications.
Derive and continually update RF link / system budgets, addressing gain, noise figure, dynamic range, and spurious performance.
Model and predict critical RF performance metrics including phase noise, CPCR, CA, and spurious suppression.
Conduct trade studies and system optimization to effectively balance performance, cost, and schedule.
Lead the integration of Tx / Rx modules, LO generation / distribution, filters, and beamforming subsystems into complete radar systems.
Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, DSP, and mechanical teams to ensure cohesive system-level alignment.
Perform root cause analyses on system performance issues and provide actionable recommendations for design modifications.
Generate and maintain high-quality documentation for requirements, budgets, analysis reports, and verification plans.
Mentor junior and mid-level RF engineers, fostering professional growth within the team.
Compensation Range : $112,900 - $146,800
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers various factors including the role's responsibilities, location, market and business considerations, along with the candidate's relevant experience, skills, and education.
Skills and Experience :
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
10+ years of experience in RF system design and analysis, particularly for radar or high-performance communications.
In-depth knowledge of RF / microwave theory including aspects such as gain, noise, non-linear effects, spurious content, and spectral purity.
Proven experience in deriving and validating system-level RF budgets.
Proficiency with simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, MATLAB, HFSS, CST, or similar.
Experience with analyses of phase noise, CPCR, CA, dynamic range, and link margin calculations.
Familiarity with radar system concepts including waveforms, pulse compression, and Doppler processing.
Strong skills with RF measurement equipment including VNAs, spectrum analyzers, phase noise analyzers, and power meters.
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with phased-array architectures and beamforming.
Understanding of military / aerospace standards and environmental testing.
Excellent communication skills for effective interactions in customer and internal design reviews.
Citizenship Requirements : Must be a U.S. citizen. Selected applicants may undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
