LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Cardiology MD in Ashland, Kentucky, 41101!

About The Position

We are seeking a licensed Interventional Cardiologist for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Kentucky, starting Nov 3, 2025. This role involves a Monday through Friday schedule, with a combination of clinic and procedural duties. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with both inpatient and outpatient care, ensuring comprehensive cardiovascular services.

  • Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm; includes 3 half days in the clinic and procedural days

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide interventional cardiology services in both clinic and hospital settings
  • Maintain a half-day clinic schedule at an outreach location weekly
  • Manage patient follow-ups (15 minutes) and new patient assessments (30 minutes)
  • Perform procedures in the Cath Lab, with potential to increase procedural volume
  • Participate in a call schedule, supporting both interventional and non-interventional needs
  • Ensure high-quality care, with an average door-to-balloon time for STEMI patients under 60 minutes

  • Must be board certified in Interventional Cardiology
  • Valid Kentucky medical license required
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Epic
  • No office-based procedures are involved
  • Facilities include a 24-bed ICU, 6-bed CVICU, and multiple specialized labs
