Operating Room Registered Nurse

A wonderful opportunity just became available for an Operating Room Registered Nurse at a Acute Care Medical Center in the beautiful state of California.

This 150+ Bed Hospital provides a full-range of services including an Emergency Department, a full-service Birth Center, and Surgical Services Department to provide quality and patient-centered care to the surrounding communities. The Operating Room Registered Nurse will join an experienced team of Healthcare Professionals who boast an accreditation by the Forum for Shared Governance.

Reporting to the Perioperative Services Nurse Manager, the Surgical Services RN will work closely with an outstanding team of Operating Room, Post Anesthesia (PACU), and Recovery Nurses. This RN will also work closely with the fantastic surgeons who perform these cases in a department that typically closes by 5pm.

The Surgical Services RN will play an important part in the day-to-day clinical and patient care in the Operating Room. The Operating Room Registered Nurse will take responsibility for patient assessment and history review, working with the physician and family to develop a clear path of care. Working under unit leadership, and in close collaboration with the attending surgeon / physician, the Nurse will help formulate a care plan and execute on that plan.

From an operational standpoint, the Operating Room Registered Nurse will have responsibility to circulate in the operating suites, support the pre and post operation turnaround, and serve as a responsible partner on a large team. This candidate will get the opportunity to grow their skills through the mentorship of an excellent Manager, through helping to develop efficiency upgrades and operational improvements for the unit, and they’ll get to lead projects to execute on those visions.
