Description
SUMMARY
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer requires all hands-on to solve complex manufacturing challenges, leads, and mentors team members. Develops and optimizes manufacturing processes. Works directly on the shop floor, troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day operations. Ensures all projects are driven through all phases of development and execution while collaborating with vendors, customers, and upper management as needed.
DUTIES
- Provide engineering and manufacturing mentorship, guidance and support for machinists in achieving production goals.
- Support product design and process improvements to drive enhancements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence on the shop floor.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Take full ownership of manufacturing projects, from initial concept and design through development, implementation, and production.
- Ensure projects are executed efficiently, meeting deadlines, quality standards, and time requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project-related issues, coordinating with all management and team members to ensure success.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Lead the development of work instructions, process documentation, and training materials.
- Work with Quality Assurance in conducting root cause analysis of manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions.
- Actively engage in day-to-day production to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Communicate with customers to address manufacturing requirements, resolve technical issues, and provide updates on project progress when needed.
- Collaborate daily with supporting departments, including production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design engineering, to ensure timely delivery of products in the correct quantities.
- Serve as a liaison between engineering and production to ensure seamless communication and alignment on priorities.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.Proven ability to develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes.Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and willingness to work directly on the shop floor.Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of managing teams and shop floor personnel.Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.Experience with CAD / CAM software and CNC programming.Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes in aerospace manufacturing.Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)Personal Attributes
