Reports To : VP of Sales, Marketing, and Estimating

FLSA : Exempt

Your Role : As an HVAC Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in our projects, providing innovative engineering solutions for HVAC systems. Your expertise will guide us through the design-build process, while adhering to all relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Draft design build drawings for HVAC systems from initial concepts to completion.
  • Oversee the permit drawing process to ensure compliance.
  • Develop budgets for various design build projects, ensuring financial feasibility.
  • Conduct basic engineering tasks for non-design build projects as needed.
  • Facilitate coordination between project managers and external engineering firms for approval of all drawings by a licensed PE.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to queries from clients, field teams, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Act as Estimator and Project Manager for applicable design-build projects.
  • Maintain company compliance with up-to-date HVAC design and code requirements.
  • Offer value engineering insights to optimize project costs and enhance performance.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends to drive continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and proficiency in designing commercial HVAC and piping systems.
  • Experience with HAP and E20 software.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to create and review detailed engineering drawings.
  • Excellent command of the English language, showcasing proficiency in grammar, spelling, and writing.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of working with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Education and Background :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC engineering, with 10+ years preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge in HVAC and piping systems.
  • Proficiency in HAP, E20, and AutoCAD software.
