Nurse Manager - Same Day Surgery

We're looking for an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee the Same Day Surgery unit consisting of 37 Pre Op / Post Op patient rooms. Lead our dynamic team, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence.

Location : New Hanover Regional Medical Center - Wilmington, NC (Level 2 Trauma Center)

Work Schedule : Varies based on unit needs, Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm

On call support required rotating every 7 - 8 weeks

Department : Surgical Services, 60 Full Time Team Members

• Education : 4 Year bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Experience : Two years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Licensure / certification / registration : Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Board certification in area of practice, preferred.
• Preferred requirements : Master's degree in nursing. Two years demonstrated leadership. Three years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Additional skills required : Understands and applies : current and future trends / practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; skills in interviewing and selection process; understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes; implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods / models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; principles of change management.
