Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform

Overview

Block is one company built from many blocks, united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The Data Integrations and Transformations Platform team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to expand our platform offerings to enable access to valuable data for machine learning, data science, risk, and applied AI teams. Our team sits on top of data ingestion and data archives to deliver platforms and applications for offline and online use cases. We provide solutions for internal teams to access valuable data via mechanisms that abstract away the nuances of raw data access, improving customer developer velocity across Block.

You Will

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services
• Lead technical design and implementation for critical systems
• Collaborate with engineering, product, data science, operations, and risk teams to deliver impactful solutions
• Drive technical excellence by establishing and promoting best practices in design, coding, testing, and operations
• Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical growth and a culture of learning
• Own project outcomes end-to-end—from concept through architecture, implementation, testing, and deployment
• Contribute to the team’s roadmap by identifying opportunities for technical improvement and innovation
