Compensation : $23.00-26.00 per hour (doe)

Education And Work Experience : At least 5 years of experience in a business and computer-based accounting environment. An associate's degree in business accounting is a plus Ability to build and maintain spreadsheets

Software-Related Skills : Knowledge of the capabilities and functions of an Accounting Financial Software Skilled in the purposeful use of the Microsoft Suite.
Scope Of Position : Works to meet the mission of the Salvation Army and NW-AK / DHQ Finance Dept. Make decisions independently and exhibit a high degree of time management skills. Maintain a more frequent flow of communication with corps officers and administrative staff with a complete understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures. Primarily reports to Assistant Controller.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities : Process payables and income pertaining to assigned portfolio Knowledgeable in grant source coding Includes verifying all back-up is in place prior to posting May consist of payroll manual checks Process assigned check runs Independently research and successfully resolve issues pertaining to payables and income. Must know how to read the chart of accounts and determine correct coding Establish and maintain electronic files Create professional communications and relationships in the field. Back up other clerk(s) in the event of an absence Research W-9 and resolve Vendor Card set up issues Complete all Corps related filing if needed Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements : Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead Ability to operate telephone Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes) Ability to access and produce information from a computer Ability to understand written information
