JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview

The Painter applies water-based paint coatings to dozer undercarriage products by the process of dip painting or manual spray gun as required by the process. General paint process requirements include verifying proper paint viscosity, coverage, and coating thickness on parts to ensure high-quality finishes. Additionally, will use a pressure washer and other tools / equipment to pre-treat and prepare parts for painting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and paint parts consistent with customer and internal requirements
  • Inspect material, ensuring pre- and post-paint acceptability
  • Operate power washer, dipping paint system, spray booth, spray gun system, and drying booth.
  • Use the systems efficiently with minimal stoppages and gaps
  • Pressure washing equipment, as well as pressure washing uniforms, will be provided
  • Follow safety and process instructions, rules, and regulations
  • Prepare surfaces using industrial materials and equipment
  • Abrasive pressure washing with high-pressure hoses / nozzles and other tools
  • Lifting, carrying, and holding parts, tools, and supplies
  • Mixing, filling, and applying paints and solvents using hand and power tools
  • Forklift and Jib crane operation
  • Transferred from task to task and other non-specified duties as requested
  • Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas
  • Ensure pre-treat, paint, and drying areas are clean and organized
  • Complete process inspections and documentation as required
  • Other facility work duties as needed

Qualifications / Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year of related experience preferred
  • Knowledge of paint application and control, operation and repair of painting equipment, and material preparation
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Sit-down propane forklift experienced
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team orientation
  • Physically stand or walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing 50 to 125 pounds
  • Must be able to pass requirements of pre-employment testing
  • Wear and perform work wearing required and supplied PPE
