About the RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of our client, a family-owned, fast-growing manufacturing business seeking a hands-on
Engineering Manager to lead a small Product Development team (3 Engineers/Drafters). This is a
working manager role-ideal for an organized, mechanically minded leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building processes from the ground up, and wants to see the direct impact of their work.
You'll partner closely with Product Development, Operations, and Leadership to design, launch, and improve furniture products from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, organize, and hold accountable a team of Engineers and Drafters, distributing work and setting clear priorities
- Establish and implement engineering processes, standards, and workflows in a growing, evolving environment
- Serve as a hands-on contributor, designing and developing products alongside the team
- Oversee end-to-end product development from concept, CAD design, prototyping, BOM development, and production release
- Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create and review detailed drawings and documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, Operations, Sourcing, and Leadership
- Manage project timelines, shifting priorities, and deliverables in a fast-paced setting
- Drive value engineering initiatives to improve cost, quality, and manufacturability
- Support prototype builds, testing, and design refinement
- Mentor and develop team members while fostering accountability and continuous improvement
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience leading engineering or product development teams
- Strong mechanical design background
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable with changing priorities
Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
