Position Summary

The mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a fleet of company-vehicles and mobile equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations. This role supports field operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring all fleet assets meet our standards for performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on vehicles, trucks, trailers, and mobile equipment (e.g., diesel and gas pick up, backhoe, skid steer, mini excavators,etc ).
• Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and technical manuals; troubleshoot vehicle / equipment failures.
• Repair and rebuild components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Fabricate parts or assemblies as needed (welding, machining, cutting) to keep fleet equipment operational.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records for each vehicle / equipment : repairs performed, parts used, time spent, inspection results.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, and company safety standards; conduct post-repair inspections and road-tests.
• Coordinate with fleet supervisor and operations / logistics teams to schedule downtime for maintenance with minimal disruption to field work.
• Order and maintain inventory of replacement parts and supplies; monitor costs and suggest improvements.
• Maintain clean, organized shop environment; ensure tools, equipment and workspaces are in good condition.
• Provide after-hours on-call support as needed for field breakdowns or emergency repairs.
• Train or mentor junior technicians or helpers as required.
• Keep up to date on the latest vehicle and equipment technology, repair techniques, and safety regulations.
