Responsibilities Work in a 32-bed Pediatric ICU within a hospital setting Primary patient population includes non-cardiac medical / surgical pediatric ICU patients such as respiratory, trauma, and neuro cases Nursing ratio is 1 : 2 for days, nights, and weekends Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00 Floating required, with priority given to travelers, typically to NICU, CCU, or Medical-Surgical units Weekend coverage required every other weekend Epic EMR experience is preferred First-time travelers are accepted for this position Duties include caring for critically ill children with varied ICU diagnoses (non-cardiac) Candidates who have been former permanent employees at this health system are not eligible Candidates must live outside a 100-mile radius to be considered Must be comfortable floating to other critical care or Med-Surg units as needed Requirements Current NE or compact RN license required Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing program required Current BLS certification (AHA) required Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Experience working with pediatric patients in a large pediatric hospital is required Level II trauma experience required Ventilator, intubation, and sedation skills required Certification as a Pediatric Nurse or Critical Care Nurse is preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-639573.
