About the Team and Role
We are building a real‑time, LLM‑augmented discovery system that moves from document‑level retrieval to knowledge‑level understanding. The role is both strategic and operational, directing a world‑class product organization and shaping the long‑term roadmap that drives engagement, retention, and subscription growth.
About You
You are a product leader who lives at the intersection of user problems, machine‑learning systems, and business outcomes. You have built or led teams that own discovery, personalization, or search at meaningful scale and can translate complex technical concepts into executive‑friendly strategy.
You Will
Set the multi‑year Discovery strategy and long‑term vision for Scribd’s discovery ecosystem.
Own end‑to‑end discovery journeys across homepage, feeds, search, and document detail pages.
Build next‑generation discovery systems using semantic embeddings, LLMs, hybrid retrieval, and real‑time personalization.
Champion rigorous experimentation, metrics, and data‑driven decision making for subscription value and content health.
Lead and grow a culture of product excellence, recruiting top PM talent and establishing cross‑functional operating rhythms.
Communicate strategy, trade‑offs, and progress to executives and partners worldwide.
You Have
10+ years of product management experience with 5+ years managing PM teams or multi‑disciplinary product groups.
Track record owning discovery, personalization, search, or ranking at scale in a consumer technology environment.
Deep technical fluency in modern ML / AI systems, including embeddings, LLMs, retrieval augmentation, and real‑time personalization.
Strong communication skills, including presentations to executives.
Experience running large‑scale A / B tests and experimentation programs.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., CS, Engineering, HCI) or equivalent experience.
Ideally You Have
Experience building or leading LLM‑powered products (AI search, generative recommendations, conversational assistants).
Background in information retrieval, recommender systems, or NLP.
Experience in large user‑generated content ecosystems where trust and quality matter.
Experience scaling a new product group or charter, including hiring senior PMs.
Base Pay
San Francisco : $173,000 – $275,000.
U.S. outside California : $142,500 – $266,250.
Canada : $181,000 – $249,250 CAD.
