The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation's oldest and largest public housing authority with more than 177,000 apartments, and responsibility for administering a citywide Section 8 leased housing program that serves over 200,000 additional tenants. The Healthy Homes Office of Mold Assessment and Remediation (OMAR) is seeking qualified Plumber to join the Enhanced Oversight Program Plus (EOP Plus). This program addresses mold and leak repair backlogs. As part of a 30+ member Temporary staff consisting of Bricklayers, Carpenters, Painters, and Plumbers, selected candidates will work at various developments across the city, focusing on resolving work orders older than 100 days and contributing to the reduction of backlogs and improved response times. In this role, Plumber will use their expertise to address critical mold and leak repair needs, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently with faster response times. The program will focus efforts on specific sites where the work will directly impact site maintenance and the overall quality of living for residents. Under supervision, the Plumber will be part of a specialized team addressing mold and leak repairs citywide as part of the Enhanced Oversight Program Plus. Duties will include, but are not limited to :

• Perform work relating to the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of plumbing and drainage systems.
• Respond to scheduled plumbing repairs in apartments and common areas.
• Perform repairs and maintenance of the water supply lines, including main pipes, risers, branch pipes, shower bodies, shut off valves, speedy tubes, faucets, etc.
• Perform maintenance and repairs of drainage systems, including vertical waste stack pipes, horizontal waste stack pipes, lead bends, P traps, etc.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures including toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and faucets in apartments and common spaces, as applicable.
• Remove clogs by applying power snake on stack line, branch line, waste trap of bathtub, lead bend, sinks and underground waste line.
• Survey job sites to identify the repair and materials needs, as needed.
• Perform work related to installation, maintenance and repair of piping for gas stoves, soil stacks and vent pipes, as needed.
• Respond to emergency repairs in apartments and common areas, such as burst pipes, leaks, or clogged drains, as needed.
• Prepare for National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate and correct National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate deficiencies.

1. Due to the existence of a civil service list, candidates must have permanent civil service status in the title of Administrative Construction Project Manager to be considered.
