OVERVIEW :
The D. E. Shaw group seeks a technical project manager to join its Human Capital Products team and help drive the development and implementation of the firm's evolving people systems. This team manages technology that optimizes human capital processes, explores ways to thoughtfully integrate AI, and empowers the firm to make data-driven talent decisions. This role offers opportunities to partner with technology, human capital, and international software development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and flexible solutions—leveraging a combination of proprietary systems and third-party products—in an engaging and collegial working environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY :
- Liaise among stakeholders across the firm—including human capital functional teams, product managers, external vendors, and software developers—to coordinate the development and implementation of Human Capital's technology platforms.
- Clarify and manage project scope and timelines, develop detailed project plans, and ensure alignment amongst cross-functional teams.
- Track progress against milestones, prepare project updates for leadership, ensure timely communication across teams, and proactively identify and find creative ways to address risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks to keep initiatives on schedule.
- Apply agile project management techniques to adapt to evolving priorities, resolve ambiguity, and drive projects to successful completion in a dynamic environment.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR :
A bachelor's degree and seven to ten years of experience in a role involving technical project or program management for technology infrastructure are required.Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, provide advisory support, and drive execution and results in complex environments.Proven project management skills, including experience managing enterprise-wide initiatives with multiple stakeholder groups.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating business needs into actionable plans and facilitating collaboration.Keen problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and the discretion to work with confidential information are essential for success in this role.The expected annual base salary for this position is $175,000 to $230,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.The D.
