Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Client Implementation Supervisor, the Information Systems Analyst 2 (ISA2) provides primary support for the Workstation on Wheels (WOW) cart devices, deployment of endpoint devices and participates in endpoint technical support and client services activities. The incumbent applies IT professional concepts and established department procedures to resolve moderately complex issues. Responsibilities include providing primary support for WOW cart devices and performing endpoint refreshes, client equipment deployments, moves and additions, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and providing support during go-live events. The ISA2 supports clinical cart operations, the client desktop environment and business applications, coordinates with team members and vendors, and contributes to planning and process improvements.

The incumbent supports project-related tasks (e.g., documentation, scheduling, or testing). Work assignments may require flexibility outside traditional business hours to meet operational needs.

  • Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies / procedures, and / or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Moderate experience supporting clinical carts in a hospital setting.
  • Moderate experience coordinating vendor services to support clinical endpoint uptime.
  • Moderate experience imaging and configuring Windows and Macintosh clients and associated peripherals in an enterprise environment.
  • Moderate experience supporting hardware, software, and desktop applications as it relates to desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Moderate experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting different versions of client application software.
  • Moderate experience in the use and knowledge of networking protocols such as DHCP, TCP / IP, etc.
  • Moderate experience creating clear technical documentation (e.g., process steps, reports, status updates).
  • General experience in project management processes; ability to assist with project tasks under direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize / handle multiple project tasks / deliverables at the same time
  • Ability to assess and document moderately complex issues
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills to assess, analyze, organize, and monitor project progress and risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction and feedback and and complete tasks following defined procedures
  • Build professional, cohesive, and collaborative relationships with team members, customers, and project stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy appropriate for interfacing with wide range of administrators, faculty, staff, along with external vendors and other university campuses
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in non-technical terms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+
  • Experience in healthcare environment and knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare-specific policies and procedures.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 / 11, Office 365, and Adobe products in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with documenting processes, workflows, and system changes.
  • Experience with enterprise endpoint management tools, remote support platforms, and Active Directory services.
  • Ability to work independently while encouraging collaboration with departmental subject matter experts, other IT staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage challenging customers with diplomacy and effectiveness. Translate problems into effective solutions and ability to communicate in a non-defensive and an empathetic manner.
  • Ability to quickly research and comprehend procedures, processes and specifications.
  • Ability to express helpful and positive attitude towards faculty, staff in various units in the hospital environment and within IT.
  • Ability to work both independently and cohesively with a diverse population.

    UC Davis Health (UCDH) Information Technology (IT) accomplishes planning and implementation activities to service the Health System's needs for teaching, clinical high-quality patient care, and research. The Client Implementation team is responsible for the planning, deployment, maintenance, lifecycle management, troubleshooting, and support of client devices (Desktops, Laptops, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Printers, Scanners, Carts, etc.) and their connectivity to the network, the applications, and the databases as well as locally installed business productivity applications. The department provides technical leadership and support for the cost-effective use of computers, software, and networking including installation, training, and problem resolution
