As an Energy Engineer, you will be performing Energy Audits, creating scopes of work, developing project proposals, and calculating utility use and costs. You will work with different departments such as sales, operations, estimating, and service, to grow business for the company.

Coordinate and lead facility visits and communicate with owners, vendors, architects and engineers regarding project developmentLead technical aspects of proposal development including energy benchmarks, proposed project descriptions, utility cost savings, and preliminary cost estimatesDetermine facility MEP system design and operating characteristicsBenchmark facilities utility use and costs compared to applicable standards (CBECS, etc.)Compare building system efficiencies, identify renovation opportunitiesCalculating energy and cost savings, create scopes of workDetermine savings interaction, maintain project scheduleEvaluate Energy Star and LEED project opportunitiesCoordinate project development with the Operations TeamCollaborate with managers, sales, estimating, construction & service personnel to drive business for all of Danforth's offeringsDirect design requirements with outside engineering and architectural personnelPropose energy savings measures using renewable resourcesReview project completion and measure and verify installed systems and equipmentSubmit and receive utility incentives on the owner's behalfExperience & Competencies :
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in a related discipline preferred3+ years of experience in the construction industry and conducting field inspections related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment is requiredThorough understanding of energy efficiency concepts, HVAC systems, and renewable energy systems is a mustCertified Energy Manager (CEM) certification and Project Management experience are advantageousPreferred experience in energy performance, electrical or mechanical engineering, solar power generation, and distribution, geothermal or wastewater applicationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to various stakeholdersWillingness to work flexible hours to meet proposal deadlinesStrong collaborative skills to create a result-driven, team-oriented environmentDemonstrates integrity, enthusiasm, and professionalism in representing the companyDanforth offers a competitive benefits package for eligible employees, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, 401(k), with company match, and participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The estimated compensation range for this role is $85,000-$110,000. This range is based on several factors, including individual education, qualifications, training, prior work experience, and work location.
