The Design Engineering Intern assists the Engineering team with new product, mechanical design, product improvements, documentation, and production fixture design. The position provides hands-on Design Engineering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Helps create designs that are aligned with assembly and manufacturing capabilities; perform Design-for-Manufacturing reviews
- Helps design and implement tooling and fixtures for effective manufacturing
- Helps troubleshoot and recommend solutions for design and production issues
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering team to develop assembly, process control and quality workmanship procedures
- Supports purchasing, quality, test, and production departments to ensure product integrity is maintained
- Supports cost justification studies and ROI for capital equipment
- Supports SOW development for equipment implementation and validation
Job Requirements
Graduate of or currently enrolled in college or university Engineering Program.If currently enrolled, Junior or Senior level, preferred. Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering discipline, preferred.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks, preferred.Ability to work minimum 20 hours per week
