Job Description

The Design Engineering Intern assists the Engineering team with new product, mechanical design, product improvements, documentation, and production fixture design. The position provides hands-on Design Engineering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Helps create designs that are aligned with assembly and manufacturing capabilities; perform Design-for-Manufacturing reviews
• Helps design and implement tooling and fixtures for effective manufacturing
• Helps troubleshoot and recommend solutions for design and production issues
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering team to develop assembly, process control and quality workmanship procedures
• Supports purchasing, quality, test, and production departments to ensure product integrity is maintained
• Supports cost justification studies and ROI for capital equipment
• Supports SOW development for equipment implementation and validation

Job Requirements

If currently enrolled, Junior or Senior level, preferred. Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering discipline, preferred.
