Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will work closely with other team members to support the overall financial health of the organization.

Staff Accountant – Expanded Role

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of accounting experience

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance

Proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel

Analytical and detail-oriented

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and cross-functionally

CPA preferred but not required

Duties & Responsibilities

Record journal entries and maintain general ledger

Reconcile bank and credit card statements

Process accounts payable and receivable

Support payroll processing and PTO tracking

Assist with month-end and year-end close

Prepare financial statements and reports

Manage budgeting and forecasting processes

Monitor cash flow and financial health

Coordinate audits and tax filings

Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance

Track KPIs and financial performance metrics

Support strategic financial planning and analysis

Assist with investor reporting and board materials

Collaborate on financial strategy and risk management

Working Conditions

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours during peak periods such as month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.

The role involves frequent interaction with internal departments and occasional communication with external vendors or auditors.

The noise level is typically low to moderate.

May occasionally require remote work depending on company policy and operational needs.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., seated) for extended periods while working on a computer.

Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, copiers, and printers.

Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email.

Visual acuity to read and interpret financial documents, spreadsheets, and computer screens.

May occasionally need to lift or carry items up to 20 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
